September 2017 Newsletter

This month Colliewobbles members presented a cheque for £1,250, raised at Dogs in the Park (Eridge) to Jo Scutts of Cora's Canine Rescue.

Many thanks to Pam for leading the September walk and the fab apple and sultana cake and Viennese whirls. We were really spoilt as Carol also produced a lovely Victoria sponge!

The 6th September is the next Heelwork to Music session at West Peckham. I doubt if I will be there but I am sure you will all have a lot of fun.

The 3rd September is our next club walk at Haysden which Pam will be running for me. I will be there for a short walk and look forward to seeing you all. If you did not put your name on the list please let Pam know that you will be coming when she posts it on our page.

I have a library of books, cd’s and dvd’s, some training, some fiction which is available for club members to borrow. There are children’s stories about animals as well as specialized training for HTM and agility. Nobody has taken up the offer over the last few months so if you are not interested I will shut down this lending library and sell some of the items. Please check it out on the website to see if you would be interested in borrowing anything.

On Monday 31st July I had my knee replacement operation. Now well on the road to recovery and I will keep everyone informed on when I I will be back. Don’t forget that when we return the Hever and Leigh classes will now be held at Chiddingstone Causeway new hall. The price has increased to £8 per session to cover the increased hire charge but hopefully parking will be easier.

Sunday 30th July was our Colliewobbles Super Dog Fun Day. I had to bring this forward by 4 weeks due to my operation so our numbers were slightly down this year as many people were still on holiday. Even so we had a brilliant day, the weather was kind, the games good and the help fantastic. At the end of the day we crowned Nemi as the highest scoring dog on the day. Congratulations to her and James. This year we had the games at the end of the day which gave John a chance to calculate the scores. Although George and I had to rush over to Tunbridge Wells Saturday to buy some more ink as I did not have enough to print out all the certificates I totally forgot Sunday to fill them in and hand out with the rosettes and trophy. They are now ready and I will get them to you asap. Apologies, I must have had something on my mind! Here are our results and pictures ->Super Dog Results

July 2017 Newsletter

Sunday 16th July was here at last and all the months of planning came together with Colliewobbles Fun Dog Club running ‘Dogs in the Park’ at Eridge Horse Trials and Country Market. We had over 30 club members, ex club members, friends and family helping run the day. What a team we were, all smartly turned out in our club shirts and working hard! You all turned up at 8am and helped set up the rings, Dogbola, booking in, trophies and rosettes ready for the 9am start. Everybody seemed to know what needed to be done and did it. We raised an amazing amount of money again this year and for the first time the club put on a short display which was a massive hit. I cannot thank all the team members enough for all their hard work and effort to make it all go so well. Take a look at a few pictures from the day here -> Eridge Pics

Congratulations to Sam & Lily, Jack & Alfie, Maria & Gilmore, Jane & Sadie, Carol & Alfie and Natasha and Ella who all took part in our KCGCDS Bronze test on 2nd July. Two of these dogs were rescued and did not have a good start in life, so extra special congratulationsto them.

It was lovely to see some new members at our last club walk. The next walk will be on 1st May. I am thinking hot drinks and bread pudding?

Chiddingstone Causeway Village Fete and Dog Show will be held on 27th August this year.

On Tuesday 31st May there will be no classes as I will be unable to have the hall. I will however try to arrange Gold and Gold Plus outdoors practice and a town walk and chips instead, weather permitting.

Hever June classes will be on 1st, 8th, 22nd & 29th. There will be no class on 15th June.

Thanks to all those that made an Easter bonnet. The bonnets were judged on how well the dogs showed them off, as well as the hats themselves. Here are a few photos of the winners from each class.

The new Chiddingstone Causeway Village Hall is expected to be opened mid December. Let's hope it does as although the hall in Leigh is nice, parking is a problem and I struggle with no street lights, towny that I am.

We could not carry on without your kind donations so thank you for supporting us and our animals. If you would like to help us please contact the kennels."

A big thank you to Sandra Giles and everyone at Colliewobbles who often give very generously to the dogs in our sanctuary. We also want to show our appreciation for the kind donation of £30 which will be put towards food while the dogs are in our care. A big thank you from all the staff and dogs here at Viking Oak, it is very much appreciated."
